A quick guide to every feature
The live clocks at the top of the page show the current time in India (IST, UTC+5:30) and the UK (GMT or BST) ticking in real time. The international dialling codes +91 for India and +44 for the UK are shown beneath each clock for quick reference.
Choose your direction — either "India to UK" or "UK to India" — using the two buttons at the top of the converter. Then enter a time and select a date. The converter instantly shows the equivalent time in the other country. Both India and the UK each have a single time zone so no city selection is needed.
Below the converted time you will see a verdict showing whether that time falls within standard UK business hours (9:00 am to 6:00 pm). Green means it is a good time to call, amber means it is borderline or just outside hours, and red means it is too early or too late.
Green or amber pills show whether the selected date is a weekday or weekend in India and the UK. If it is a weekend the verdict will tell you to try again on Monday.
Below the verdict you will see the time difference in plain English — for example "India is 4 hours 30 minutes ahead of the UK" in summer or 5 hours 30 minutes in winter.
Tap the WhatsApp button to generate a ready-to-send message such as "India: 11:19 pm IST to UK: 5:49 pm BST | ist2gmt.com". You can also use the Copy button to copy the same text to your clipboard.
The UK uses GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, UTC+0) from late October to late March, and BST (British Summer Time, UTC+1) from late March to late October. The time difference between India and the UK is either 5 hours 30 minutes in winter or 4 hours 30 minutes in summer. ist2gmt.com detects which is in use automatically and updates all displays accordingly.
To call India from the UK dial +91 followed by the number, dropping the leading zero. To call the UK from India dial +44 followed by the number, dropping the leading zero.
